Milk For Gauguin's Cat cat prints are inspired by one of Paul Gauguin's most popular, but unusual still life paintings. From Deborah's
Famous Artists Cats. Get a bigger look by clicking the thumbnail on your left.
For these cat prints, Deborah took what looks like an odd hybrid, part still life (bottom right) that inexplicably spill onto a floor with wine goblets and trail of fruits departing a silver bowl. There is no divider between table and floor; so, it looks like the cat and dogs in Gauguin's painting are either on an enormous table or the still life is on the floor.
Whatever. Anyway, Gauguin has given his puppies a huge bowl of milk to feast from. An enterprising cat – Deborah's famous cat, George, is the model has chosen to join in. There's plenty of milk to go around. The puppies don't seem to mind.
This art work has been adapted for a
handmade cat card. If you're looking for gifts, these two go well together.
